Annual meeting of the Governing Board of AFROSAI-E held in Maseru

The Auditor General of Lesotho, Mrs Lucy Liphafa, hosted the annual meeting of the Governing Board of AFROSAI-E in Maseru in April 2010. This event included a technical update and workshop for top executives from the 23 member SAIs of the organization. The theme for this year’s meeting was “Human Resource Management in an SAI.”
The English language sub-group of AFROSAI is doing its share to rejuvenate the organization. A new operating structure was on the table for approval when the Board of Governors met in Gabon in August 2010. Since July 2010 AFROSAI is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the German development cooperation agency. The two long-term advisers, Ms Emma Kellner (Senior Project Manager) and Mr Sascha Baum (Project Manager), are hosted by the AFROSAI-E Secretariat in Pretoria, South Africa.
