The Secretariat of AFROSAI-E will be based in South Africa until December 2016. Office accommodation, IT infrastructure and equipment, as well as communication facilities are provided by the Auditor General of South Africa as an in-kind contribution to the organization. Member SAIs pay an annual financial contribution which is mainly used to cover the running expenses of the Secretariat.
The organization is to a large extent dependent on donor funding and support from its institutional partners to finance its capacity building initiatives in the region.
The staff contingent at the Secretariat includes six technical experts with a wide range of experience in the various fields of audit. A pool of selected resource persons from member SAIs is also at its disposal when needed.
