Enabling Gender Responsive SAIs


Over 130 participants from all over the world joined us for our first Gender Equality Workshop on 21 September 2021. In collaboration with gender experts and programme officers from SAIs in our region, the IDI and the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation, the programme included highly engaging discussions on this topical issue.

Among the session highlights were the results sharing of the AFROSAI-E Gender Equality Assessment and the 2020 SAI Global Survey and Stocktaking. Presenters from the IDI and SAI Eritrea also shared their journeys of becoming more gender responsive organisations. The workshop also included important perspectives on building SAI capacity to conduct audits that contribute to gender equality.

The themes discussed in the workshop will continue to feature in upcoming interventions, including the Technical Conference and annual HR Workshop, as part of our commitment to support our SAIs to become gender responsive organisations.
