AFROSAI-E had planned for several A-SEAT implementations in 2025, including one at SAI Sierra Leone, which would become the 14th SAI in the AFROSAI-E region to implement the system. The A-SEAT implementation aims to empower SAIs to leverage digital technologies and techniques, thereby enhancing audit efficiency and effectiveness.

During the week of 1–5 September 2025, the AFROSAI-E technical team, working closely with SAI Sierra Leone’s ICT team, successfully deployed the system. In recognition of its national ownership, the system has been named SIERRA SEAT (Sierra Leone SAI Enhancement Audit Tool).

This was followed by a configuration phase from 8–12 September 2025, where SIERRA SEAT was tailored to align with SAI Sierra Leone’s specific processes and workflows. One of the strengths of A-SEAT is its flexibility, allowing each SAI to configure the system according to its institutional needs and audit methodologies.

Once the configuration was completed, AFROSAI-E conducted 5-day comprehensive user training sessions for the teams. The training was well received, equipping staff with the skills and confidence to integrate SIERRA SEAT into their audit practices.

SAI Sierra Leone is now preparing to embark on its first pilot audit using SIERRA-SEAT. The pilot will serve as a crucial step toward full rollout and adoption, marking a significant leap forward in the institution’s digital transformation journey.
