Regional Workshop: Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting & Learning

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is of crosscutting relevance for SAI operations, from strategic management, operational planning, stakeholder management and reporting to learning. Effective M&E systems enable a SAI to report to stakeholders about its performance, compliance with audit standards, financial management, and implementation of its strategic plan, among other things.

This three-day workshop will introduce participants to monitoring and evaluation and take them through the life cycle of planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning. As this is the first workshop on this topic, the sessions will all be at an introductory level. Follow-up workshops will build on these learnings. The workshop objectives are:

• To create awareness in the region and introduce participants to monitoring and evaluation concepts and principles.
• For participants to understand how to apply monitoring and evaluation in SAI operations, from operational planning to reporting.
• To promote transparency and accountability in the region by capacitating SAIs to report on their own performance.

We invite SAIs to nominate suitable participants to attend the workshop. Ideally, nominated participants should be M&E focal persons and/or be responsible for operational planning, quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation or reporting.
