SUMMARY:Regional Workshop: A-SEAT & Recommendation Tracker Administrator Training
DESCRIPTION:The A-SEAT includes functionality for recommendation tracking at the individual audit level\, with a consolidation report planned to be built into the system in due course. As the A-SEAT is intended solely for SAI use\, the Secretariat explored expanding this audit recommendation-tracking capability into a public-facing recommendation-tracking system. \nThe resulting Audit Recommendation Tracking System is a web-based platform designed to support SAIs\, stakeholders\, and audited entities in managing the lifecycle of audit recommendations. The SAI can use the tracker tool as an external-facing system during the audit (A-SEATquery) and post-audit (A-SEATtracker). \nWe invite SAIs to nominate staff to participate in an administrator workshop scheduled for 12 – 21 October 2026\, in Pretoria\, South Africa. The workshop will focus on the newly developed audit tracker system and new A-SEAT functionalities. It will aim to build the capacity of SAI A-SEAT Admin Support teams to manage the two systems effectively. \nTo ensure we achieve the workshop objective and SAIs gain the most value from this capacity-building intervention\, it is crucial that the appropriate staff attend the workshop. We invite SAIs to nominate appropriate participants who meet the following criteria: \n\nCurrently working as A-SEAT or audit tracker admin support.\nActively participated in implementing the 2024 A-SEAT updates on the SAI A-SEAT system.\nWorked as a member of the SAIs’ A-SEAT deployment and configuration team.\nHave good knowledge of the A-SEAT.\nHave some knowledge or experience in Windows or Linux operating systems.\nKnowledgeable about the SAIs’ functionality requirements for the A-SEAT.\n\nNominated participants can click here to register.

SUMMARY:Regional Workshop: Planning for Audit Impact
DESCRIPTION:This regional workshop is part of the Planning for Audit Impact project\, AFROSAI-E\, launched last year in partnership with IDI. SAI audit impact refers to the positive effects of the SAI’s audit work on people and the environment. By planning for audit impact\, SAIs can undertake well-considered planning\, ensure efforts are coordinated\, and achieve seamless integration across the organisation. They can also set clear audit objectives to guide annual scoping\, messaging\, resource needs\, and tools required to support the audit portfolio in planning\, execution\, and reporting\, including identifying macro risks and responses. \nRegistration is limited to participating SAIs.

SUMMARY:Regional Workshop: Sustainability Reporting
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite SAIs to nominate representatives to participate in an upcoming regional workshop tailored for auditors and corporate reporting staff. \nThis workshop is designed to strengthen knowledge and practical skills in sustainability reporting. While the core mandate of SAIs remains the delivery of impactful audits\, there is a growing expectation that SAIs demonstrate leadership in transparency and accountability\, particularly by reporting on their own sustainability performance. In addition\, Parliaments increasingly expect SAIs to provide clear and credible reporting on their institutional activities\, further reinforcing the importance of this capability. \nThe five-day regional workshop\, themed “Leading by Example in Enhancing Accountability through Sustainability Reporting\,” will be held in Pretoria\, South Africa\, from 11 to 15 May 2026. Through a combination of technical inputs and practical discussions\, AFROSAI-E will facilitate sessions on understanding sustainability reporting standards\, approaches to auditing sustainability-related information\, and applying these principles within SAI reporting practices. \nPlease note that registration will close on 15 April 2026. \nREGISTRATION LINK \n

SUMMARY:SAI-ACA Anti-Corruption Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Corruption remains deeply harmful to African nations\, hampering their social and economic progress and weakening governance. It misallocates vital resources intended for public services such as healthcare\, education\, and infrastructure\, thereby perpetuating cycles of poverty and inequality. Additionally\, corruption deters foreign direct investment (FDI) and slows economic growth\, preventing sustainable development. \nBuilding on the momentum generated by the regional anti-corruption initiatives we’ve implemented with our partners since 2023\, AFROSAI-E will host the annual SAI-ACA Anti-Corruption Seminar in Johannesburg\, South Africa\, from 24 to 27 March. The theme for the 2026 Conference will be: Collaborative Governance: Leading the fight against corruption in Africa for improved Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). \n

SUMMARY:IS Audit Champions Programme - Module 1 Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Information Systems Audit Champions Programme (ISACP) is a four-module IS audit training programme that started in July 2019. It involves training workshops interspersed with pilot audits on focus areas where SAIs struggle to build capacity. \nThe objective of the IT Audit Champions Programme is to build practical capacity in the SAI’s Information Systems Audit function to carry out audits of critical information systems and adequately support financial\, compliance and performance auditors in the SAI. This course targets SAIs with established IS Audit sections. \nIt is expected that the SAIs sending staff for the programme will commit to these teams taking part in all four modules of the programme and provide support to future champions. Further\, the teams will be expected to conduct specialised pilot audits in the areas that will be covered during the programme. \nNominated staff can click here to register.

SUMMARY:Annual WGISAM Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We established the Working Group on Information Systems Audit and Management (WGISAM) in 2019 to enable knowledge and experience sharing on Information System security in the region. The creation of the WGISAM was motivated by the fast-growing technological advancements\, which present challenges in SAIs\, for both IS audits and IS management. \nThe theme for this year is ‘Auditing for impact in the digital age: maintaining a future-ready workforce and harnessing AI to build a quality-driven SAI’. The theme responds to the Governing Board resolutions of building a future-ready workforce and current ISSAI developments requiring SAIs to build quality management systems. \nWe invite SAIs to nominate WGISAM members currently participating or intending to participate in the WGISAM activities to attend the workshop. Further\, SAIs can nominate staff from the IS Audit or IS Management (ICT) units who are affected or working in the areas to be discussed. \nNominated staff can click here to register.

SUMMARY:Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Regional Workshop
DESCRIPTION:AFROSAI-E defines certain aspects of Communication and Stakeholder Engagement (CSE) within the ICBF that the SAI should be implementing and provides guidance and training to support SAIs in these areas. This is the basis of the Regional CSE Workshop from 20-24 October 2025\, in South Africa. This year\, we are joined by representatives from the National Audit Office of the United Kingdom\, who will co-facilitate the workshop. \nThe workshop theme is Reporting for Impact and aims to unpack the concept of impact through reporting and enhance SAI capacity to produce impactful reports. It will cover reports on SAI’s own performance and audit reports. We expect that participants will return to their SAIs and conduct in-house training on this subject for staff. \nTo ensure we achieve the workshop objectives and SAIs gain the most value from this capacity-building intervention\, we encourage SAIs to consider nominating at least two participants for this workshop—ideally\, one senior-level practitioner responsible for communication and stakeholder engagement\, and one senior auditor. \nNominated participants can click here to register online.\nThe registration process involves completing two sections: (1) the event registration form and (2) the SAI impact reporting survey\, in full.
