Making A Difference In The Performance Of SAIs

SAIs leading by example with exemplary reports

ISSAI 12: Value and Benefits of SAIs, requires SAIs to communicate their audit messages clearly and understandably, to enable effective oversight and; to lead by example in exercising their mandate. This month we highlight two reports from member SAIs that demonstrates their commitment to these ideals.

The first report comes from SAI Sierra Leone that recently published a Graphic Representation and Summary of the Auditor General’s 2016 Annual Report. The SAI has taken an innovative approach to present the core messages of the audit report in graphic form, making it easy to understand for citizens from all reaches of life. The second featured report comes from SAI Uganda. The SAI has taken important strides to lead by example in reporting on its own performance for the last three years. In the latest report, the SAI also reports on its first year of implementing its 2016—2021 Corporate Strategy, that is themed: Enhancing Public Accountability and making a Difference.
