Partnering with AFROSAI-E is an investment in Africa

At AFROSAI-E, we know that strong, independent Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) are essential for good governance, citizen trust, and sustainable development.

Our role is to ensure that our 26 member SAIs are both well-functioning institutions and producers of high-quality, relevant audits. But we cannot achieve this impact alone.

Partnerships are at the heart of everything we do. By working with development partners, regional organisations, and funders, we match resources and expertise to the real needs of SAIs. Together, we close capacity gaps, strengthen independence, and create the conditions for public funds to truly serve the public good.

Your support helps us ensure that no SAI—and no citizen—is left behind.

Our Host: The Auditor General of South Africa

The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) has been a cornerstone of AFROSAI-E since our establishment in 2005, hosting the organisation and supporting its growth for over two decades. As a staunch supporter of regional audit capacity development, the AGSA annually contributes over 20% of AFROSAI-E’s core funding, providing not only financial resources but also seconded staff, infrastructure, and staff overhead support.

Beyond funding, this commitment reflects the AGSA’s dedication to fostering a strong, interconnected community of Supreme Audit Institutions that uplift and support one another across Africa. The AGSA’s contributions have been central to AFROSAI-E’s evolution, enabling the organisation to deliver impactful programmes, strengthen member SAIs, and enhance audit quality throughout the region.

As the host country, the AGSA also plays an oversight role over the Executive Secretariat, as defined in the AFROSAI-E Statutes and the Memorandum of Understanding for 2023–2028. This ensures accountability, governance, and alignment with the organisation’s mission, reinforcing the AGSA’s integral role in both the operational and strategic success of AFROSAI-E.

We are privileged to have long-standing institutional partnerships with the Supreme Audit Institutions of Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands. These partnerships extend beyond financial contributions—our SAI partners provide vital core funding, technical collaboration on projects, and advisory support.

Their commitment strengthens our ability to deliver sustainable capacity development and ensures that AFROSAI-E remains a trusted regional platform for improving governance and accountability across Africa.
