Regional Workshop: Audit of Local Government
Local government plays a crucial role in ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to citizens. SAIs have a responsibility to audit this complex and multifaceted area of governance. There are numerous aspects that auditors should consider, including but not limited to:
- Service delivery issues
- Infrastructure assets used for service delivery
- Financial sustainability
To equip member-SAIs with technical guidance, enabling the conduct of comprehensive audits of the local government sphere, we have planned a regional workshop from 24 to 28 November 2025 in Pretoria, South Africa. The objective of the workshop is to roll out the Guideline on Local Government.
To ensure we achieve the workshop objective and SAIs gain the most value from this capacity-building intervention, we invite SAIs to nominate participants who are currently involved in the audit of local government.
