Regional Workshop: Environmental & Sustainability Summit
We are pleased to invite SAIs to nominate representatives to participate in an upcoming regional workshop tailored for auditors and team managers engaged in environmental and sustainability audits.
The theme of the three-day regional Environmental and Sustainability Summit is “Integrity. Insight. Impact. The Auditor’s Role in ESG Transformation”.
The workshop aims to highlight the environmental and sustainability challenges facing the region, the role of auditors as viewed by stakeholders, and to facilitate knowledge sharing within the auditing community regarding techniques used, success stories, and challenges encountered in conducting audits in these areas. We also aim to provide this as a unique annual platform for discussing environmental and sustainability issues from the auditors’ perspective. Our goal is to help SAIs stay relevant by providing valuable reports for their citizens and to contribute to a global effort to protect the environment by holding governments accountable.
Through a combination of technical inputs and practical discussions, AFROSAI-E will facilitate sessions on:
- Understanding environmental and sustainability standards
- Issues and approaches to auditing environmental and sustainability-related information
- Applying these principles within SAI reporting practices.
We invite SAI to nominate up to three participants, preferably those engaged in auditing environmental and sustainability issues, as well as managers of such teams. We encourage SAIs to consider equitable gender representation when nominating staff. Once nominations have been confirmed, nominated participants are requested to register via the link below as soon as possible to secure their place.
