Regional Workshop: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

We have scheduled a five-day regional workshop to build SAI capacity on the monitoring and evaluation process from planning, monitoring, and evaluation to reporting. This workshop will build on the lessons learnt from the first workshop on this focus area that we held last year.

The objectives of the workshop are to:

1. Assist SAIs in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to aid with monitoring the implementation of SAI operational plans.
2. For participants to understand the key concepts of M&E and how to develop key performance indicators to track organisational performance.
3. To promote transparency and accountability in the region by capacitating SAIs in developing M&E reports and annual performance reports.

To ensure we achieve the workshop objectives and SAIs gain the most value from this capacity-building intervention, it is crucial that the appropriate staff attend the workshop. We invite SAIs to nominate participants for the workshop who currently fulfil any of the following roles in the SAI:

• SAI’s M&E focal person
• Operational planning
• Quality assurance
• Monitoring, evaluation and reporting
