Corruption remains deeply harmful to African nations, hampering their social and economic progress and weakening governance. It misallocates vital resources intended for public services such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, thereby perpetuating cycles of poverty and inequality. Additionally, corruption deters foreign direct investment (FDI) and slows economic growth, preventing sustainable development.

Building on the momentum generated by the regional anti-corruption initiatives we’ve implemented with our partners since 2023, AFROSAI-E will host the annual SAI-ACA Anti-Corruption Seminar in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 24 to 27 March. The theme for the 2026 Conference will be: Collaborative Governance: Leading the fight against corruption in Africa for improved Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

Invitations will be distributed early in 2026.
