Kigali, October 2026 — Supreme Audit Institutions from across the region convened this week for the Risk Management Experience Sharing Workshop, a milestone event under the Crisis and Risk Management Initiative (CRISP) of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) in partnership with AFROSAI-E. The workshop marked a critical step toward helping SAIs strengthen risk management, business continuity, and crisis preparedness amid heightened governance challenges.

Building on progress since the December 2022 regional workshop, participants reviewed achievements, shared implementation evidence, and identified gaps that continue to affect institutional resilience. Participants emphasised that risk management must evolve into a living framework, integrated into audit planning and decision-making.

This initiative reflects AFROSAI‑E and IDI’s commitment to building resilient institutions that can uphold transparency and accountability. As one participant noted, “Risk management is not about avoiding uncertainty, but about equipping SAIs to manage it strategically and ensure continuity of credible audits.”
