Regional Workshop: Extractive Industries
June 27 - June 30
We are pleased to inform you that the four-day workshop will be held from 27 June to 30 June 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa. The theme will be taking action on energy transition. Thematic discussions will include (a) pitstops along the net zero carbon journey to the year 2050, (b) a just energy mix and (c) real diversification in the EI sector.
The workshop will build on last year’s theme and resolutions around energy transition and how the SAI can play its role in ensuring energy security while decarbonising. There will be ample opportunity for dialogue and knowledge sharing while we further expand on this thematic area.
To ensure we achieve the workshop objectives and SAIs gain the most value from this capacity-building intervention, it is crucial that the appropriate staff attend the workshop. We invite SAIs to nominate staff for the workshop who are currently involved in the audit of extractive industries.
The workshop will take place at the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town.
Nominated participants are responsible for making their own accommodation reservations. We have negotiated the following special rates with Lagoon Beach Hotel :
