With the global Covid-19 pandemic showing no immediate signs of slowing down, we have, in consultation with the Heads of our member-SAIs, made the decision to cancel the 2020 Strategic Review and 17th Governing Board meeting. The meeting was due to take place in Ghana from 11 to 15 May 2020. Members of the Board will instead hold virtual meetings. Once the Board has approved the final resolutions through a round-robin process, we will make the relevant documents public.
Based on our assessment of the current situation, we’ve also decided to suspend all our planned training and travel activities until the end of May 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation to determine if we need to consider further event postponements after May.
Although the current situation is affecting our ability to travel for face-to-face activities, the AFROSAI-E Secretariat is still fully operational. All our staff are working from home and able to connect with members, partners and stakeholders remotely.
We encourage everyone to practice social distancing and to remain vigilant.
