Strategies for Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) are becoming increasingly crucial, as they define how institutions can thrive in complex environments and respond to rising stakeholder expectations. Effective strategies ensure high-quality audits that align with national priorities, thereby enhancing accountability and transparency in the public sector. Under its strategic management programme, AFROSAI-E supports SAIs in the validation process, helping them set realistic strategies aligned with their mandates and capable of delivering the intended outcomes.

Funded by the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation’s African Renaissance Fund, AFROSAI-E conducted a strategy validation process for SAI Ethiopia. The process involved interrogating their priorities, setting a clear direction, ensuring all staff understood the expected deliverables, and building accountability systems. This support ensured that the strategy is not just a document but a workable roadmap for SAI Ethiopia.
