WGISAM Workshop, 25 – 29 September 2023, Namibia

The Office of the Auditor-General of Namibia hosted the five-day 2023 Working Group on Information Systems Audit and Management (WGISAM) workshop that started on 25 September. The workshop’s theme was leveraging technology to make a difference in the lives of citizens.

The workshop aimed to explore innovative ways to enhance SAI audit practices and improve governance processes using technology. The main discussion topic of the week centred around the audit of critical government information systems. Representatives from the AFROSAI-E Secretariat and SAIs from Rwanda, South Sudan, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Kenya, The Gambia, Tanzania, and Uganda participated.

WGISAM was established in 2019 following an AFROSAI-E Governing Board decision to have a regional focus group to share experiences and provide solutions to the challenges faced by SAIs.
