National Audit Office of Tanzania – Excellence in Environmental and Sustainability Auditing
SAI Tanzania was honoured for its exemplary leadership in advancing environmental and sustainability auditing. The SAI has been an active and consistent partner in AFROSAI-E’s environmental
initiatives since 2022 and has generously shared its expertise to strengthen capacity across the region.
Their innovative work continues to bring visibility to the region globally. At the recent INTOSAI WGEA meeting in Malta, SAI Tanzania received international recognition for its audit on the Management of Carbon Trade, which showcased the use of satellite imagery, spatial mapping, and heatmaps to verify environmental interventions and assess emission reductions. As host of the AFROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing, SAI Tanzania continues to inspire its peers through professionalism, innovation, and commitment to sustainability.
